So,I did her hair.I didn’t put any curls in it yet but I don’t think she wants any.Anywho,We’re going to a late service to my aunts church because we wanted to spend time with my aunt and hear her speak.She’s a minister…

Anyway,Kids are so jumpy.She was playing with her scrunchy and swinging her legs.I did her hair with a Babyliss Porcelain Ceramic flat iron.I had some heat protector that’s for heat protection and anti frizz its called fantasia ic heat protection serum.It worked well…..I just had it for an emergency cause I couldn’t get to my favorite products yesterday.Normally I wouldn’t use it.My favorite is designLINE Frizz Free Serum and Get it pressed by designLINE thats what I’d normally use.However,These products work pretty good.And I used Motions conditioning oil sheen in replace of Keracare Oil Sheen.These are the alternatives to those products I just named.

Isn’t she lovely?She was cheesing and giving me quick smiles cause she was itching to get outside but she was itching to get her hair done as well.It took an hour and 25 minutes.

Finally able to take my state board.I have a model and the cash to pay for it.My cousin Anna volunteered to do it.Gotta love her!

Now I just have to practice for it and purchase some products.I am gonna get her over here this week.Then I can’t wait to get into the salon…..man oh man.I am gonna have a career in the beauty industry.Work in a salon and on the time that I am a available.I plan to do some freelancing and get some personal clients.And build a strong portfolio.I am so excited!

Okay,I am currently waiting for some money thats suppose to come to me that would help me with the state board.So I need some money for license exam and supplies but I have all my equipment.

On the other note,This girl contacted me to do hair for an rocker event and I was so sad to turn it down because I do not have my ish together.I wouldn’t like to disappoint anyone or me be the reason why they have to search again but I had to do what was the right thing to do and tell the truth and not embarrass myself while not having the proper supplies for her hair.

And On the side note,I applied to Macy’s yesterday for a full-time beauty advisor position and I got contacted today for an interview.I was up late night applying to jobs as usual and something finally came through.I love those makeup counters at Macy’s.I do not know why but Macy’s gives me butterflies.Looks like my future is just a phone call away.

Honestly,My dream career opportunity is to have a job working at Sephora or MAC.Only because I LOVE MAKEUP and I love to sell things.I can turn a $5 sale into something bigger.Not to mention that I love makeup and I want to apply makeup for a living?I know how to sell and up sell so the making sales goals isn’t a big problem for me.I have this passion inside of me that just makes me want to scream.I am just praying to god that Sephora answers my application.Sephora is really so glamorous when I walked in there.When I get an interview for anyone of these companies.I will be wearing black.

MAC,I have to go and get my Resume and cover letter printed out so I can apply to MAC BUT I think it would be much easier if I begin to work someplace else and then show my portfolio.

Sephora is so beautiful though…all the cosmetics and everything just laying around beautifully.I was in heaven with my first visit there.MAC just looks so good and it always stands out.Anyone have any tips for on an interview or getting the job?

Ok,So this is my hair before it got cut.It is now 1inch pass my braw strap and now that I look at this picture,I can see why I needed it cut.Before I came to beauty school…..I wasn’t taking care of it{I graduated by the way}.And now I am,I dont put it in a pony tale as much as I did before and I am not gonna add heat to it as much as I did when I discovered how quick a flat iron can get my hair straight.Now its feeling and looking healthy.I am just gonna let it grow because it wasn’t cut all at once.

I plan to wear it natural for a few months because I am still trying to get over how things was before my hair was this length but people say its still beautiful and long.My hair grows back quick so why I am stressing it anyway?I never really had the struggle of growing it.And I thank god for that blessing.And now I am going to thank him even more by continue to take care of it.Being a beauty professional…..has really brought another side out of me.I am now noticing the flaw my hair had before.

I don’t have any recent pictures of it now but I will take some this weekend and post it or update this post.My hair is naturally curly,Extremely curly and a medium/thick texture. When I brush it,It can bring you back to the afro puff days although I’ve never worn Afro puffs.

Now I am just gonna wear it as a fashion statement because big hair…..curly hair with a style is the thing now adays.I have just been looking for accessories that will make me wanna really rock it.I also gotta go out and purchase the right products.

Get my license.Get hired at a salon…and then start my beauty consulting business because that is my dream.I just pray that I get the job first.I am just gonna keep praying.I have fantastic self-promotion plans.I am just  gotta get ready for my future because it is definitely gonna happen.I am looking for a salon that fits me.The three below me I like them.I also applied to Ulta & Tradesecret.com.Just this is breathtaking,I can’t believe I have found something that I love that I can do for the rest of my life.Stylist always have  a job.And I am proud of myself to enter this world.I plan to get makeup training at David Nicholas makeup studio. He helps people with their strength and weaknesses with makeup.After his training I plan to go to other schools as well like cosmix if I can or Makeup designory.

I have been planning this for a long time.I wish I could get a job at Mac Or Sephora because I was dreaming that when I was in beauty school but I dont know how I could do that.I am already into sales so I dont have a problem with making sales or upselling for that matter.I’ve done it plenty of times to know what I’m doing.

Since cosmetology is such a diverse career.I’ve looked for other things to do until I can get my makeup career off the ground.Which means applying to other companies besides makeup.

SUPER CUTS.

Super cuts has been known to hire beauty school graduates.Also known for their hair cutting  “hince the name”.When I was just beginning my advanced classes I was impressed by their demonstration.It was a nice layer cut done on my classmate, now my friend.They have amazing benefits.Education reimbursement+ more cutting and hair coloring training.I can’t remember everything else but they had GREAT benefits.Supercuts.com is their website!

VIDAL SASSOON

I was impressed knowing that Vidal Sassoon had  education dvds and a hair coloring/cutting academy in many locations.They did an awesome demonstration on an student at Blaine and her haircut came out amazing.I was impressed with the hairstyles and coloring jobs that they showed us…..and I just knew that I wanted to be apart of Vidal Sassoon. G2O Spa and Salon

This  salon also did an amazing haircut but what impressed me the most is their curling iron techniques.They’ve taught me how to add more hold to a curl without having to add spray.Their finish look was amazing and so fashion forward.I was like wow amazing and It looks like a salon that I would fit in at.Their inspiration speech is what motivated me to continue wwhen times wore getting tough.I just remembered the words that came from out of their mouth. I’d love to work at a makeup counter or with a makeup company during my career but since I have wonderful hair skills if no jobs wore available at the counters.

I’d definitely work at a salon and I’d like to do hair and makeup for fashion shows in the future.As well as work for magazines.OMG ,I have so much in mind.I am dreaming big.My mind is not just on one thing.I just know that I have to make it.Although makeup is my desire.I love hair too so Its going to be a wonderful addition when I build up enough investment for my makeup kit and everything.

My skills have gotten so impressive.I know I can make it far…..

Okay so I am pretty darn proud of myself seeing that I got a 90 on the written test in aught for me to get my certification.People,This test is full of question from the whole book.May I add that it is 100 questions.The state board test is a little more than 100. though.Here’s proof….Its not just hairstyling questions.It’s Chemistry,I studied the whole body.I graduated on the 9th.

Next stop,License test,I am searching for a model and meanwhile gonna practice on someone at home.Finger waves and all….I have to get my Shears Sharpened:D they are dull.Scissors are too expensive  right now for me  to purchase new ones.I have to more so think of money  for my license/test. Friday I went to Wet Seal and got A nice lil outfit.One button boyfriend jacket,With this nice Drap front top in black and some low rise pants in black.Didn’t realize they wore low rise until I tried them on.They fit nicely with the top and the jacket.I had to return the jacket today and get the right size.I made a mistake and grabbed the medium when I need a large.I wanted to get some more black clothing because my other clothing from school is pretty messed up from hair coloring etc.Black is the color to wear at beauty jobs so I wanted to be prepared.

I am looking for some nice little accessories to put in my hair while wearing it natural{it’s naturally curly}.I just washed it this evening.:D I just recently got a new phone although I am still trying to figure it out{Sam Sung gravity}.I plan on making some videos on it and posting them here.I would like to make some makeup videos and video blogs.:D I am loving the Camera/video camera quality.I had a sidekick 3 {the first one}and its gone…the phone was a train wreck.So I had to get rid of it.Although I will miss our good memories but I didnt want another SK.

It’s  official.I think this is gonna be the new anthem for us females in the 09.Miss Independent song is great…but She got her own?is  just fabulous.And look at all the independent females up in this video?I loved it when I seen Jill Marie Jones in it most of all because she played  an independent character on Girlfriends.Good to see her out!I also love how Teyana Taylor is growing up to be a beautiful young lady.Love the fashion and the makeup in the video.Jamie Foxx and Ne-yo did a fabulous job with this jount and fabolous is doing his thing too…! I love it…I love the song before the video and now I love it even more.BIG UPS to the director and everyone behind it!It’s not yesterday’s new but I love this song and video so much.

I have been thinking about my career a lot.I am feeling the idea of being my own boss.However,I need to know the right professionals to contact in order to get something like this rolling.I love the cosmetology world…the fashion behind it.Everything! I am ready to do my thing….My graduation is just days away by the way.This week will be my last full week of school and I must say that I am proud of myself.I love the career choice I have chosen.

I dream of having my own studio even if I can just rent it.I dream of having something of my own even if its out side of having a studio.I just want something! And do what I LOVE!

I am just excited but the way the economy is with the hiring freeze or the low amount of jobs.Its up to us independent,Licensed and certified folks to get our own thing going.There are so many resources out there.I just have to find out how to find them.And then there’s marketing and location.If I want to do it out of the bag or get a location some kind of way.There are also  folks out there that are willing to invest in things that are a sure money maker.So,Who knows what will happen for me?I am just praying and keeping faith that I will be okay.
